Natural Homemade Deodorants for Smooth, White, and Odor-free Underarms

Sweat and Body Odor is something that pisses off everybody. So, today in this article, I tackle the subject of body odor and ways to control it with a natural remedy.

Well, slathering on conventional deodorant or antiperspirants might work great, if you aren’t bothered about using aluminum, alcohol or other additives on your skin.

But what if your skin is allergic to those additives? or if you don’t like infusing your armpits with such additives?

How to make Natural Homemade Deodorant

All the recipes below-mentioned work well to lighten, for smoothing, and odor-free underarms. If you’re allergic to any ingredient such as baking soda or shea butter you’ve got alternatives. I’ve listed down recipes without using them as well.

Note: While using baking soda to armpits, people with sensitive skin perhaps might develop irritation in the underarm area. So, do a patch test before. Else, simply avoid baking soda or other potent ingredients.

You’ll need
  1. Raw and unrefined Shea Butter – 2tbsp
  2. Baking Soda – 2tbsp
  3. Raw, unrefined Coconut Oil – 3tbsp
  4. Arrowroot flour or organic Cornstarch – 2tbsp
  5. Your favorite Essential oils (optional)
Process

Add shea butter and coconut oil to a mason jar and place it in a small saucepan of water.

Heat the mixture over low heat until shea butter and coconut oil gets melted.

Now, remove from heat and add other ingredients like baking soda and arrowroot. You can add your favorite essential oil for fragrance purposes. I like using essential oil combinations like tea tree oil, lavender, or vanilla.

Mix all together well.

At this point, add your essential oils, probably 10 to 15 drops. And pour the mixture into any tins, glass jars, or any molds. In summers, you’ve to refrigerate this deodorant since it melts down.

Now, it takes several hours for the mixture to completely harden. So, you can refrigerate it to speed up the process.

This DIY recipe is Frugally sustainable inspired recipe that is made with potent ingredients.

You’ll need
  1. Unrefined, Organic Coconut Oil – 3tbsp
  2. Shea Butter – 1tbsp
  3. All-natural, unrefined Beeswax
  4. Cocoa Butter – 1tbsp
  5. Baking Soda – 1/2tsp
  6. Bentonite Clay – 1 1/2tsp
  7. Arrowroot powder – 2tbsp
  8. Vitamin E oil – 1/4tsp
  9. Probiotic Powder – 1 capsule
  10. 15 drops of Essential Oils – Orange, Frankincense, and Cypress essential oil
Process

In a double boiler, melt the cocoa butter, shea butter, coconut oil, and beeswax over low heat.

Remove pot from heat, allow the mixture to cool slightly, and then add other ingredients like arrowroot, bentonite clay, and baking soda.

Mix well until all ingredients are dissolved and well combined.

Now, add vitamin E oil with other combinations of essential oils.

Allow the mixture to cool in a pan. Once it’s cooled, open the probiotic capsule and add the powder to this mixture. Stir all ingredients to combine well.

Pour the mixture to a deodorant container, tins, or glass jars. Place in a refrigerator to cool and solidify.

You’ll need
  1. Shea Butter – 1tbsp
  2. Coconut Oil – 1tbsp
  3. Beeswax – 1 1/2 tbsp
  4. Vitamin E oil – 1/4tsp
  5. Essential Oils
Process

Using a double boiler melt beeswax, shea butter, and coconut oil.

Once all the ingredients meltdown, remove the pot from heat and let it cool down.

Now, add other ingredients – vitamin E oil and essential oils like Lavender, Melaleuca, and Sage oils to the mix.

Mix all the ingredients thoroughly and carefully pour into a deodorant container or tins. Place in a refrigerator to cool and solidify.

 

4. Homemade Deodorant Spray

You’ll need
  1. Witch Hazel – 1/4 cup
  2. Magnesium Oil – 2tsp
  3. Essential Oils 15 drops – Bergamot, Lavender, Patchouli
  4. Spray Bottle
Process

To a spray bottle pour in a quarter cup of witch hazel, 2 teaspoons of Magnesium oil, and then 15 drops of essential oils like Bergamot, Lavender, and Patchouli. You can use your favorite combination of oils as well, according to your fragrance preference.

Shake the bottle until all the ingredients mix well.

Now, you’re ready to spray this homemade deodorant without baking soda to your armpits.

 

5. DIY Natural Deodorant with 3 ingredients

You’ll need
  1. Baking Soda – 1/4 cup
  2. Cornstarch – 1/4 cup
  3. Unrefined, extra virgin Coconut Oil – 2tbsp
  4. Essential Oils 10 drops (optional)
Process

First, melt the coconut oil using a double boiler process. Then toss in baking soda, corn starch, and essential oils of your choice to the melted coconut oil.

Mix them thoroughly until they get combined. Pour into a small container or deodorant container. Refrigerate to solidify the mixture.

These are some of the Homemade deodorant options to make at home with easily available ingredients. They cost you less yet can be effective on your skin. Switching to these homemade deodorants can be a better option if you’re worried about using store-bought deodorants.
