Double Ka Meetha is a popular dessert well-known as Bread Halwa. This bread pudding dessert aka Bread halwa is made with fresh bread slices soaked in sugar syrup and fresh milk and topped with nuts.
It’s a very simple recipe and all the required ingredients can be prepared ahead of time and kept ready to assemble.

Double Ka Meetha Recipe
Ingredients
- 8 Bread Slices Milk or Sandwich Bread
- 3 tbsp Homemade Ghee
- 10 Cashew nuts
- 10 Raisins
- 1 cup Sugar
- 1 cup Water
- 1 cup Milk
- 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder
Instructions
- ?? Cut each Bread slice into small chunks
- ?? Add Ghee and heat it to frying
- ?? Fry the bread pieces in batches
- ?? Fry the bread pieces till Golden brown
- ?? Now, fry the Cashew nuts and Raisins till golden and remove, set aside
- ?? To prepare Sugar syrup, add a cup each of Sugar and Water. Cook on low heat for 7 to 9 mins
- ?? Then to the sugar syrup, add the fried bread pieces and let them soak in the syrup
- ?? Next, add a cup of Milk, Cardamom powder, and finally roasted cashew nuts and raisins
- ?? Mash the mix gently and Serve hot!
